Advantages of electric ball valve:

1. Large diameter, large flow through the valve.

2. Allows the medium to contain fine particles (such as a small amount of sand)

3. Can be powered on for a long time

4. No installation requirements

Disadvantages:

1. The maintenance cost is slightly higher than that of the solenoid valve (the actuator is generally the main part of the electric ball valve that needs maintenance and repair. All its accessories are in the actuator, so the parts are delicate and concentrated together, and it is very time-consuming and labor-intensive to repair and inspect; usually we directly replace the actuator with a new one.

However, if the torque is selected appropriately, the valve body pressure and medium temperature are within the normal range, and the valve body and bracket are matched appropriately, the actuator is not easy to break if water does not enter.

2. Compared with the solenoid valve, the overall size of the electric ball valve is larger than that of the solenoid valve.

3. Slow opening and closing; generally, the opening and closing time of the electric ball valve is about 8-10s; the opening and closing time of an upgraded fast-opening electric ball valve can be shortened to 4-5s.

Advantages of solenoid valve:

1. Fast Open and close , open immediately when power is on, close immediately when power is off  (Normally Closed Type)

2. The overall size is smaller than that of electric ball valve

3. Low maintenance cost. Most of its materials are brass, the valve body is strong and wear-resistant, and repair and maintenance usually only require replacement of parts.

Disadvantages:

1. The flow rate is relatively small (Compared to Electric ball valve)

2. There are requirements for installation (Generally Horizontal installation, if vertical installation is required, a thicker spring needs to be replaced to support the copper coil to generate a stronger force to pull the diaphragm)

3. It cannot be powered on for a long time (The coil will heat up if powered on for a long time); After replacing a larger copper coil and using it with an energy-saving module, the longest power-on time can reach about one week.

4. The medium cannot have fine particles;

In summary: 

Electric ball valves and solenoid valves each have their own advantages and disadvantages. You can choose the valve type reasonably according to your own valve needs.
